Well, well, well... look who's making headlines—little ol’ me!
Yours truly, Willis Wonderland, that “fabulously kitsch party house,” just got the star treatment in the Los Angeles Times. The article shines the spotlight on my pop-up doppelgänger, Willis Wonderland: The Legendary House of Atomic Kitsch, and pairs it with a dreamy photo shoot that captures me in all my outrageous glory. Not to brag (ok, to brag), but I looked pretty spectacular in person but also in print and pixels.
The article is out now online (paywall, shmaywall). For the full printed version, grab the June 22 Sunday edition. You’ll see me there in all my bubblegum-pink, kitsch-filled fabulousness, flaunting a few of my favorite curves. The Times even hovered a drone over the backyard to get the full view, bowling balls and all.
As Hillary Carlip put it (she’s the book’s co-writer and designer and a longtime friend of Allee’s if you weren’t hip to that):
“Everything [Allee] created had so much joy in it. I think when people come into this house, they feel all those things, they’re inspired to create… You cannot help but be inspired by being in here.”
She’s so right! (Hillary and I go way back. She knows what she’s talking about.)
That’s enough me, me, me for today. I’ll be back next time with another fun video starring our favorite back-in-the-day besties, Paul Reubens and Allee Willis.
Stay cool!

P.S. Ever wondered who is behind that incredible inlay “Singing Sealife” floor in my rec room? Nope, it wasn’t Allee. The artist reveal is right this way.

Big thanks to the Willis Wonderland Foundation for giving me a voice.

Share the magic, not the whole script.
Look, I adore being talked about. That’s how stories spread and legacies live on. So yes, share a photo, a GIF, a quote (just a snippet, not the entire post please). Just be sure to credit the Willis Wonderland Foundation and link back. All images and GIFs are licensed under CC BY-NC 4.0. That means you can share them with credit, just not for anything commercial.
This is amazing! Just ordered my copy! ❤️
